Countries Surfed : Ive surfed like… Portugalllll, and like…. Tobagoooo, and France and stuff, and like….Australia, oh and that place England and Scotland .

Best Surfing Experience: Well, when I lived in Australia, I woke up one morning when camping which just so happened to be Christmas Day….only to find out that there was surf which was about 4-5ft glassy….but what made it extra special was the pure fact I was completely alone!! And the water was warm…yet I still wore a wettie just because I was staying in all day! I had a perfect A-Frame wave for a whole 6hours all to myself getting barrelled all day! :D and then after…PUB!
Worst Surfing Experience: well…a time comes when a boy needs a battering once and a while, and this particular day at Woolamia Beach in Victoria , the surf was around the 7-9ft mark. Having no idea what I was really heading out into…I paddled out during a lull in the sets. Only to find out that when I got out back…I was approached by several walls of water higher than Id ever witness. Along with wanting to lay dumps into my wetsuit I decided to paddle onto a wave taking a perfect take off and pulling off my longest barrel to date! J however…I haven’t got to the bad part of the story yet…I speedily paddled back out with the biggest smile on my face only to have that smile turned upside down! A slightly large set came through with waves about 9ft maybe larger. The only option was to catch the smallest of the set which was the first so I wasn’t obliterated by the waves behind! Taking an extremely late take off…I free fell the drop falling onto my board…(well…what was once my board anyway…that was the last ride in its life)….anyway. I fell…landed on the board feeling the pure force of a wave about 3times my height crush me and hold me down. Time passed. and so did some more time. Time I was running out off. And again…more time passed. and then I popped out of the water to then be obliterated by the walls of water from the other set waves. “goodbye ant” is what I said to myself. I pretty much S*#^ my pants!

Butttt….i did live in Australia the past few years! That was the best 2years of my life! That’s where I hope to end up!
What are you on: ive been asked that a few times really…I sometimes wonder what you mean by that? Well last night I had a few beers if that’s any consolation! Im like..totally straight edge! Hahaha
Oh right…the board…well…I ride a 5’4 custom fish by lindsell surfboards that I had made for me. That’s pretty lush. It rides sooo nice and can be thrown around so easily! Ive also got a 5’11 lost surfboard which I bought from a good mate of mine..it has done me well and the design is sick!! However…I found the board of my dreams the otherday..its a 5’8 twin fin retro fish by 2.5in by 22in wide made my Nigel semmons and im thinking about learning how to rob banks so I can buy it…I wouldn’t want to rob the surf shop now would i! haha but yeah…that board is the soul! I cant wait to have it!
I have a few other boards but one is still in Oz and the other is going to be on ebay soon
Career Aspects : My dream is to follow the surf really…but its not as practical as some people make it look so I really want to study Oceanography and travel that way. That way I will be travelling the world, surfing great destinations whilst working in an area that I love and earn a nice wage…simple as that really! Haha ill obviously be putting the hours in to make it happen...but it will!
Thoughts of the Course: well...to be honest…I hate it…they force you to go surfing on Fridays!! I mean seriously...Who does that!! Especially when the surf is like 3ft glassy! Id prefer to be in the classroom reading the dictionary!
But on the serious note…I couldn’t be happier really…leaving a full time 9-5 dead end job to live in Newquay for free, surf everyday, make new mates to go on surf trips with, and actually learn something useful has to be the best thing since sliced bread! Im still waiting for the small print really…
Plus the “teachers”… are awesome!!
My predicted Grades: well…of-course im going to say it…but im going to leave here with A’s and distinctions and nothing else!! Ill put bets on it! haha
Advice for possible Applicants: well, free accommodation, possible everyday surfing, instant access to Plymouth uni, amazing work placement, not the busiest of schedules either…who can complain? If someone has found something better…then id…then id…I don’t know what I would do…I wouldn’t really care because this is ideal for me!
